For all scenic applications where a bolt down, bolt across connection is required.
Steel plate is 40mm x40mm x 4mm
Drill through the scenery at the point the connection is required.
Afix with 2 x No8 (4mm) wood screw into the position required.
On connecting the piece of scenery - attach the StageNut Washer ( rounded corners) to the scenery again with 2 x No8 (4mm) wood screw into the position required.
 
Using a M10 Hex bolt you can then connect the scenery as many time as you require without damaging the timber or metal.
 
For fit-ups only - the bolt would be required and the tool to tighten/remove the bolts. 
No more fiddly washers and plates.
 
( Bolts and screws not supplied) but Screws are available in the webstore.
